Mike is a seasoned trial lawyer with more than 25 years of experience litigating complex commercial cases for companies and individuals across industries including real estate, finance, private equity, banking, and insurance. He has secured multiple jury verdicts and settlements totaling nearly $300 million, with several of his trial victories recognized among The National Law Journal’s annual “Top 100 Verdicts.” Known for his courtroom skill and strategic judgment, he has represented Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, and private equity funds in high-stakes disputes, and has successfully defended clients before regulatory bodies such as the Securities and Exchange Commission. His work has earned repeated recognition, including as a “Leader of Influence: Litigators & Trial Attorneys” by the Los Angeles Business Journal and honors from Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers.
Before co-founding Kibler Fowler & Cave in 2020, Mike spent nearly two decades at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where he represented leading companies in high-stakes litigation nationwide. Together with John Fowler and Matt Cave, he launched KF&C as a boutique trial and litigation firm built on BigLaw experience, trial excellence, and deep industry knowledge. Under his leadership, the firm has grown into a nationally recognized practice known for its courtroom strength, agility, and representation of clients in industries driving the economy, including entertainment and media, financial services, and real estate.
In addition to his litigation achievements, Mike is widely respected for his leadership both within the firm and in the community. He serves on the Executive Board of Covenant House California (having previously been Board Chair), is a trustee of Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, Connecticut, serves on the Western Los Angeles County Council Scout Executive Board, has coached baseball in the Beverly Hills Little League, and served as an Assistant Scoutmaster of BSA Troop 223 in the Pacific Palisades.
