Appellate Litigation

Leveraging our experience as former federal law clerks and trial lawyers skilled at identifying issues and framing arguments, KF&C’s Appellate Litigation Practice Group handles complex, high-stakes appeals at all levels of the federal and state judiciary and across all practice areas and industries.

We handle our own appeals. In addition, our appellate team is deployed in the early stages of litigation, handling important briefings and acting as a resource for our trial teams to develop a favorable record upon which we may defend or attack trial outcomes on appeal. Through this early integration and involvement in trial-level litigation, our appellate lawyers are well positioned to defend lower court victories and fight to overturn unfavorable outcomes.

Our lawyers have briefed and argued cases before federal and state appellate courts throughout the country including the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second, Third, Fourth, Seventh, Eighth, Ninth, Eleventh, D.C., and Federal Circuits, the California Court of Appeal, the New York State Appellate Division, the Florida District Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, and the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Underscoring the respect that appellate courts have for our work, our lawyers have been appointed by federal courts to assist with appellate briefing and have been appointed as Amicus Curiae to advise the Third and Fourth Circuits on constitutional questions. In addition, many of our lawyers are former clerks from federal appellate and district courts across the nation.
