Kibler Fowler & Cave LLP is proud to join an amicus brief filed on April 3, 2026, in the D.C. Circuit in support of Perkins Coie LLP, Jenner & Block LLP, Susman Godfrey LLP, and WilmerHale in their consolidated appeal challenging Executive Orders that targeted law firms. Four U.S. District Court judges have found that the Executive Orders violated the First Amendment’s protections of free speech and the Fifth Amendment’s guarantee of due process in cases where the firm also joined amicus submissions.
This filing reflects KF&C’s continued commitment to upholding core constitutional principles and the independence of counsel. We are honored to stand alongside hundreds of law firms across the country in defense of these foundational values. “The right to counsel is fundamental to our entire legal system,” said Managing Partner Mike Kibler. “We are proud to join our colleagues in defending that core principle and supporting lawyers’ ability to represent clients without fear of governmental retribution.”
We commend Eimer Stahl for their leadership in coordinating this effort on behalf of the legal profession, and we are grateful for the opportunity to add our voice to this important cause.
