Associate Sara Borjigin recently represented two clients on a pro bono basis in their appeals before the Los Angeles Small Claims Court. The clients, two low-income individuals, were referred to the firm by Public Counsel, the nation’s largest provider of pro bono legal services. They were sued by their landlord for unpaid water and sewage bills. After the Court entered judgments against them, they appealed. Sara provided pro bono representation of the clients in the appellate proceedings, which included trials de novo. She successfully tried the two cases, securing judgments that reduced the clients’ utilities payments by approximately 35%. The firm applauds Sara for partnering with Public Counsel to provide legal services to those unable to pay, and for her stellar advocacy on behalf of her clients.
